I was interested in this opportunity with HHS as it offers a hands-on experience in the federal sector while contributing to the nation’s public health infrastructure. I wanted to be apart of an organization where I could apply my skills to meaningful work where innovation can directly impact healthcare delivery.
I am eager to contribute to initiatives that improve data-driven decision making in health IT, as well as collaborate with experts in the field while gaining exposure to projects and public health policy.
During both of my degrees and my current certificate program, I have been able to gain a comprehensive understanding on my knowledge of healthcare quality and efficiency. The combination of public health and health information systems have equipped me with a skillset that helped me prepare to contribute to ASTP/ONC’s efforts in improving healthcare through technology.
The Pathways program provided me with valuable networking opportunities and connected me with mentors who offer valuable insights, proper resources, and guidance helping me understand the nuances of working in the federal systems.
Additionally, the program provided clarity on the federal hiring process, making it easier for application and to interview with the team. The structured support and real-world experience I’ve gained through Pathways have been essential in building a strong foundation for my career at HHS.
