Anjum Khurshid, PhD, MD, MPAff

Dr. Anjum Khurshid is a nationally-recognized physician-leader in the field of health information technology and its applications for population health improvement. Dr. Khurshid served as a Senior Health Systems Strategist at the Louisiana Public Health Institute in New Orleans. He directed the successful $13.5 million Crescent City Beacon Community program in New Orleans that focused on improving management of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  He was also the Principal Investigator of the Louisiana Clinical Data Research Network, funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) that brings patients, clinicians, and researchers together to conduct clinical effectiveness research.

He was the former Director of the Health & Behavioral Risk Research Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia and Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Management & Informatics.  He was also the Director of Evaluation and Clinical Research for the Integrated Care Collaboration, a community health information exchange in Central Texas that coordinates care for vulnerable populations.

Dr. Khurshid earned his PhD in Public Policy and Master in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from King Edward Medical University, Lahore. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Tulane School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty in Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
