On December 16 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm ET, ONC hosted a webinar, led by members of the Lantern Project, to discuss recent efforts to advance patient access through standards-based APIs. Through the Lantern Project, ONC has worked with stakeholders on proposed guidance for certified API developers to conform to Cures Final Rule requirements on FHIR endpoint list publication. Participants learned more about Lantern and discussed the proposed guidance on making endpoint list publication more standard and uniform.

ONC is participating in the AMIA 2021 Virtual Informatics Summit, leading two panels – one on projects funded under the LEAP in Health IT funding opportunity and the other on the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI). The AMIA 2021 Virtual Informatics Summit brings together informatics professionals to learn about best practices, new methodologies and shared challenges in four main areas: translational bioinformatics, clinical research informatics, implementation informatics, and data science.
