Why did you pursue an employment opportunity with HHS through the Pathways to Public Service program?

HHS is the number one federal agency I aspired to work with. Considering my medical background & interest in social services, the HHS  commitment to enhancing the health & well-being of Americans resonated with me most. This coupled with my desire to begin a career in the federal government after my time in the Air Force led me to HHS!

What most excites you about this Pathways to Public Service internship?

What excites me most is continuing to learn more about how ASTP operates and furthering connections with my team.

How has your university/major prepared you for the work you will be doing within your agency?

I attended a Pathways to Public Service workshop to further develop my resume & learn key tips on how to apply to USA Jobs listings. I knew how to optimize my search.

How did the Pathways program help you navigate your federal career with HHS? (Tell us about mentors you had, events you attended, resources shared, interviews, and the hiring process)

I learned more about what my path would look like once I secured a position. I attended federal resume workshops and different career fairs. Although I am a veteran and the hiring process for federal positions is more of a streamlined experience for us, I learned more about optimizing my experience when applying.
