Outreach Opportunities
PTPS events are designed to help prospects prepare for internships and career opportunities as well as allow them to network with the top hiring officials within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Examples of PTPS outreach and public service events include:
Navigating Federal Employment Workshop
HHS Representatives conduct an interactive workshop for all faculty, staff, and students applying to career and internship opportunities with the federal government. During this workshop, participants will learn about HHS’s Pathways to Public Service internship program and how to best prepare for the application process. Professional coaching will be done on creating and utilizing a USA Jobs account, drafting a federal resume, and interviewing for positions on the federal level.
HHS Pathways to Public Service Virtual Career Fair
HHS Representatives conduct a one-and-a-half-hour virtual federal career and internship fair. Topics covered include an overview of HHS and the participating agencies, desired majors and possible career paths, and extended breakout sessions featuring Hiring Managers, current Interns, and information regarding additional entry-level job opportunities in each agency.
College/University Conferences and Fairs
HHS Representatives attend various conferences and career/internship fairs to speak to students and recent graduates about internship and career opportunities at HHS, as well as to raise awareness about our Virtual Career Fairs and Navigating Federal Employment Workshops. Participating in these events allows us the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations to address students’ specific questions and concerns. Fairs covered include those for individual MSIs and collegiate conferences for MSI Institutions.
